Student-Led Financial Education With a Community Mission

Hi! I'm Madison McKellar, an incoming 11th grade student at Bishop Blanchet High School in Kirkland, Washington.

I created Bright Future Finance because I believe financial literacy is an important life skill that should be introduced at an early age. My goal is to help younger students build confidence with money through fun, engaging lessons that make learning about saving, spending, and budgeting approachable and enjoyable.

Outside of school, I work part-time at MyICON, a local financial planning firm, where I've had the opportunity to learn more about personal finance and the impact financial education can have on people's lives.

I am also a member of the National Honor Society and have prior tutoring experience. Through volunteering and working with younger students, I've discovered how much I enjoy teaching and helping kids learn new skills in a supportive environment.

I've spent a lot of time working with children through KidsQuest and other volunteer opportunities, and those experiences inspired me to create a program that combines education, creativity, and real-world life skills.

As someone who is interested in pursuing business in the future, Bright Future Finance allows me to combine my interests in finance, education, and community service. I hope students leave each class feeling more confident, curious, and excited about managing money in the future.
